I see that many of you are smarting from the referendum result. It may not be what a lot of you wanted but many of us voted out for very good reasons and not just economic or migration although I am sure they played a part in the decision for many. Almost everyone I know voted out the faceless bureaucrats that are totally un-elected and unrepresentative of our great country and we are not fooled by the lies told by the remain camp.
Some of us believe there is more than money at stake here.

For goodness sake it's only been 2 weeks.
It would be worth remembering that there are many industries out there that have suffered greatly from being in Europe not least our decimated fishing industry.

I am not racist or of low intelligence as the media suggest. Also I know a lot of youngsters who voted out and they were prepared to go out and vote considering there was only a 36% turnout for the young.
We must always defend our democratic rights it's what many paid a huge price to keep.

Sure things will not be easy but once we get to grips we will be far better off and be able to build upon success.

So let's all be positive I respect your opinions but I am also entitled to mine.

[quote="Karen& Ceri"] Almost everyone I know voted out the faceless bureaucrats that are totally un-elected and unrepresentative of our great country and we are not fooled by the lies told by the remain camp....
We must always defend our democratic rights it's what many paid a huge price to keep.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion; however for anyone who really wants to know about how the EU operates and how describing it as 'undemocratic' and 'unrepresentative' is really somewhat inaccurate , here is a link to a good explanation by the Irish Ambassador to Britain , written before the referendum Bit late now of course, but for the record anyway':
The whole link is here but you can note it begins with the Ambassador saying:
"I am getting a bit weary of hearing the European Union derided as undemocratic or as an unaccountable bureaucracy. These claims do not square with my own experience of the EU, whose affairs I have followed since I first joined the Irish diplomatic service in 1978. They seem to me to be based on a lack of understanding, wilful or otherwise, of the necessarily complex ways in which the EU operates." and he carries on to explain in detail the various democratic checks and balances in operation.

Ultimately of course anyone is entitled to dislike that particular mode of operation but it can't really be described as 'unrepresentative' or 'undemocratic'.
