So, does everybody now understand exactly what is happening? That our glorious PM who said he would stay and lead UK whatever the result suddenly ups and resigns and says "No thanks". And that those who actually won also decided to resign because they realised they didn't actually have a plan if they won? Or.......well, imagine trying to explain it all to an American....so here goes:

Explaining to Americans about Brexit

The only resignation fom the leave camp is Farage and he is stiil an MEP not a minister or even an MP so would have had no part in the exit negotiations anyway.
Boris quit as potential pm because he new he didn't have the numbers. He's still an mp and may yet have a role in the exit negotiations
Marcliff, your arguement doesn't stack up and why is it that it has to be explained to an American? Is that relevant ?

Dippy? great way to debate . Valenciaman, if you read back, mentioned leaving so my comment was directed that way.
Because my comments differ to yours then calling them is dippy sums up your state of mind.
We can't all be right , we can't all be wrong. Please respect another point of view without resorting to personal slurs

Well, my lot may have lost the referendum but at least I haven't lost my sense of humour.

So there you go its started, pound is down so your pension is worth less and price of property for foreigners is going up because of this, so those who can't afford to live in spain can't now sell their house to go back to blighty.
Looks like a woman is going to run the country so up the tories lets hope for maggy thatcher part 2.

Well, the price for Brits is going up. Don't think it's actually going up for foreigners. And you'll get more pounds if you sell to a Norwegian or nice, friendly Frenchman. Not that I'd be thinking of selling. I weathered it when it went lower back in 2009 and if I now have to pay the equivalent of 95p for a bottle of fairly decent wine instead of 80p then I think I'll manage.

"leaving the EU would be a disaster for our economy and would risk a decade of economic and political uncertainty” Andrea Leadsom, 2013. Not that long ago is it? Byzantine conversion or political opportunism? I know what my money's on.

Excellent explanation, sums up all of the reasons to be cheerful. Only one point on accuracy, Gove is unfortunately Scottish (son of an Aberdeen Fishmonger)not English but I am quite happy if the Yanks think he is.

Shame about the Wales result. I hate Ronaldo almost as much as Bojo, Gove, IDS and Farage.

Are we going to have two years of this constant I was right, you were right, tit for tat debate
Why don't we just wait and watch .
Spoke to a Belgian guy today and he was saying that if the same referendum was taken throughout the eu then most would vote to leave.
He also said, which is probably true, that most of the vote was based on emotion not reality.
Going by the mudslinging and downright nastiness seen from both sides of the arguement in here then that's obviously true.
Maybe it's time to just to look for positives.
I couldn't vote but probably would have voted to remain due to the uncertainty involved in leaving but now we will most certainly leave so should we try to be positive and cut the nastiness out?
