Hi Gwen, Where abouts are you thinking of settling? I am getting more and more confused by the day. I want to be somewhere I feel safe but its also very important to find a good sense of community.
Hope things go well for you. I'd be very interested to hear how your search goes......good luck! :D

Hi Debbie, we like the area around Playa Flamenca/ La Zenia but after a lot of research Ciudad Quesada seems to have a lovely community feel so it will be down to where we can rent a nice property which will be suitable for us as we have a dog.I didn't realise just how many rental properties will not accept a dog! My husband is retiring at the end of April, our furniture is going into storage in the UK (what I haven't sold already ha ha) and we will leave on the 1st May. Hoping to make the most of travelling over so we will be taking 7/8 days. We sold our house a couple of years ago, and are in a rented property at the mo as we have planned this move for a while. If we don't do it now, we never will!! I'm 61, husband is 65 and we just want to enjoy retirement. Like yourselves, we plan to rent for a year and see how we feel regards purchasing a property, but renting for that time will give us a chance to travel around the nearby areas to be sure. I have enquired about several properties this weekend, one is positive but just waiting to hear from the others before we take it any further. I'm also apprehensive (and excited) but there's no turning back now so let's do it! Keep in touch with me. :D

I run a Charity Shop in Almoradi and would be happy to help with any questions you have. I´ve rented a villa and an apartment with my dog here in Almoradi and it´s never been a problem. I´ll be glad to help you with any information about Almoradi, good luck with your move.

We are also bringing a small dog with us! I think we will make Almoradi our base for the time we are there in April, but we will definitely be looking at Ciudad Quesada and surrounding areas while we are there. My hubby and I run a second hand furniture business here in the UK so will be definitely taking a look at the Carity shop in Almoradi. Many thanks for all your comments, we are really looking forward to this! :D

I have a house in Callosa de segura , about 10 minutes away as the crow flies.
The market in Almoradi is very busy on Saturdays.
But keep your handbag and wallets safe . I had my purse stolen out of the shopping bag on my last visit
Coming back to pay the ITV TAX due in July , so I am looking forward to almost a month of warmer weather. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Hi all. I'm coming to Almoradi in July for a week with my 2 children (10,16). We want to visit some surrounding areas like Torrevieja lakes, Guardamar beach, Orihuela and also spend time in Almoradi. I don't drive so would need a bit of advice on travelling around. Is it easy to go by bus to the beach/Torrevieja/Orihuela?
Thank you.

Hi, all this info and posts are really useful! We are hoping to come over in September for a year or so and we have a very friendly Labrador! We've set our sights on Quesada as we have relatives there but after reading posts would consider Almoradi or maybe Algorfa - which is nicer? Are they all quite close to each other? We are also looking for Long Term rental that accepts a dog and have found this forum invaluable! Our dog had his Rabies jab yesterday but our Vet said we need to check with a localVet/other dog owners what other jabs they recommend having? Any advice would be great! :text-thankyouyellow:
