Please answer questions on your 'For Sale' topics!

Reminder- Please do your best to answer every question on your topic for sale . It's just polite and only takes a few seconds! It isn't nice to feel ignored and this is a "free" selling forum.

Also we do understand that sellers sometines answer some of the questions by Private message or Private email and this is fine but please write a post on the topic too to say you have sent a PM or email to the member (name) so they know to look out for it.

Also very often, after some time, if there has been no indication that an item has sold, there may be enquiries as to whether the item is still for sale. Please answer this question! Better still write Sold (in the title) when it's sold or 'still for sale' on a new reply post on the item if it's taking a while to sell.

We still have many 'for sale' topics which have been on the forum for quite a while and we can't just 'assume' that they are Sold.

Also, as we keep reminding those selling items, when you post an item for sale or wanted there will be a banner underneath your topic saying ' "Click here to receive an email when someone replies to your post above" and it's important to click on it then any replies/questions will be sent to you by email straight away and you can click the link to answer them on your topic. That way those wanting answers are not kept waiting.

We have so many topics with items for sale that have unanswered questions and also do not say Sold on them when they are sometimes many months old. These topics can get questions asking if the item is still for sale after the topic is many months old. It may seem obvious that the item will not be for sale anymore for whatever reason but that assumption is not ours to make. Therefore it is important that you keep everyone up to date as to what is happening with your for sale item.

Do not post an item for sale without clicking "Click here to receive an email when someone replies to your post above"

Hi all,
I do agree with answering any For Sale post you upload. I have however fallen foul recently to criticism about not answering quickly enough to a Ford Kuga for sale post. I apologised and then answered the questions. It wasn’t until a little later I realised that from the moment I posted the ad to my “late” replies it was 40 hours! Sixteen of those hours I was sleeping! For me this great forum is exactly that, it’s a forum and not my lifestyle. I am a busy man and do not live on the internet and reading my email accounts. I answer as quickly as I can. The rather impatient user who made his feelings very clear hasn’t even bothered to acknowledge any of my answers to his questions. Not to worry though. Keep up the good work Jan it’s a great forum and in future I will try as soon as I can to answer any questions.

People should have some patience and luckily most do. No one should be expected to answer a question immediately, we all have other things to do.

As you know doubt realise, we are mainly referring to those who post a 'for sale' item and then seem to disappear without a word and never answer questions. Also those who never come back on to say if the item is Sold.

Resending this topic again. Still many questions going unanswered*. Please check your items for sale topics and update them. It is unfair to put items for sale on this free forum and then appear to ignore them.

Dear Jan,in stiches and scoobydoo are not asking questions merely bored people expressing
opinions! The kitchen and cooker were given free of charge to a more deserving

I have noticed that there are a couple of members who always seem to ask questions on for sale items for seemingly no reason other than to bring attention to some missing information etc.

I agree it would be better if the questions are only asked by those who are genuinely interested in buying the actual item for sale.
