Good luck to getting a reply from them, we've been e-mailing them for weeks waiting for our house insurance details that they promised to send us and heard nothing. So thanks to them our house still isn't insured.

cjrk,
Have they acknowledged receipt of your emails? If not, maybe they haven't received them?
Whenever I've emailed my branch they have always responded quickly.
What about sending them a message via your internet banking?
Geoff.

The e-mails were definitely sent and we've finally found out why they haven't replied to them. Apparently the woman who worked there has left the bank and not informed anybody of our insurance. We've been given a name of someone else who may be able to help us and an e-mail has been sent. Never thought about using the internet banking for sending a message but I'll bear that in mind for the future, thanks for your suggestion.

I'm with caxia in quesada ...yes all you need is a passport ....my partner also opened an account there a few months ago ...very helpful English speaking staff ...
Don't go on a Monday morning, place is always full of mainly English people , speaking loudly to the staff...despite the staff speaking perfect English

You could use this problem as a 'get out clause' and not insure through a bank. There are much better and cheaper options and you won't be tied in. Many of us have been caught out by bank insurances in the past.
If you are living there go in the nearest insurance company office and ask for a good price (or ask on here where the best place to go is) - If you are a holiday home use one of the online holiday home insurers. Whoever you use, when they give you a price... barter..say it's too much and they should offer a better price and always check that they will give you due notice of the new premium each year.
Banks have been known to take the money each year without notifying of the new premium or the chance to compare somewhere better and then ask for 2 or more months notice to leave them, which is makes it really difficult.
Get out while you can IMO.
PS Oops... Just seen that this topic is a few months old but this post may help others .
