Santander Bank

Santander Bank

Can someone please advise what is required to open a Santander bank account in Quesada? I know you need a NIE but do you know what other documents? Another bank needed last 3 payslips and the last P60 but we have the issue that it is in the UK in storage. We have recently retired.

When I opened my account with them back in February (then closed it again recently due to very poor customer service - if any) I had to provide a passport, NIE and my latest set of accounts (self employed) or last 3 months wage slips, and a utility bill with your current address. However, do not be surprised if they require something else when you get there. The bank is that slow its almost going backwards. Good luck - you will need it - and patience.

I agree the above, Santander Quesada is a nightmare and should be avoided.

Thank you both for your comments.

I shall now avoid this bank. Would you mind recommending an alternative?

I wouldn't touch them again. Very very poor service and high charges! I'd definitely recommend Sabadell. Call and ask for an appointment with Silvia. Amazingly helpful!

I agree with 3Lincolns Santander in Quesada were awful for service, my Spanish solicitor recommended Sabadell so changed to them and they've been excellent both in the Quesada branch and for online banking, hope this recommendation helps you decide

My advice would be don't do it. they promised us the earth when we opened with them 6 years ago and very quickly moved the goalposts on the account even though we bought shares and insured the house with them to get free banking.
When we settle here permanently I will certainly move to another bank
