You can add a VPN into a flashed Amazon stick http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/vpns/140 ... e-tv-stick though no 100% guarantee with work with all apps.

Filmon app installed for bbc etc. If you are ok using Kodi (can be a little technical / clunky), you would have to use the Kodi app to give you access to a lot of the content.

There is also other iptv / wifi equipment which will work with this type of hotel set up to give live TV / catch up etc - but will end up costing a little more than firestick

No, they can't block your Wi Fi or the device connecting. It is the specific app or content which will be blocked.

Kodi if already on the stick, should work in Spain, as it does in the UK - just not the Amazon apps / iplayer etc

Only issue (aside from Kodi itself) that I can see is how well it will work in a hotel type application where the Wi Fi signal is not usually the strongest - and you are starting with a device with one of the smallest Wi Fi antennas.

In truth no way of knowing how well will perform as applications (Wi Fi signal wise) will vary, so if signal good you should be ok. If Wi Fi a little weak, may end up losing too much speed and impacting the TV.
