Yes, NIE is your number and is equivalent to the DNI which is the Spanish ID card which we don't get.

You do not need to get any other contract thankfully.
The app will allow you remote access to your meter.
I am assuming that you have downloaded the corect app, the Iberdrola Distribution App and are deffinately connected to a Smart Meter and now on monthly billing.
If so it looks like the meter is not communicating remotely. Iberdrola have had a few that will still read the consumption used, but not send it remotely to them.
Your latest bill top left under contract data should show you have remote management under the heading MeterType.
If every thing I have mentioned, app, smart meter, and bill data check out, give Iberdrola a call to get it checked out.
Let us know how you get on.

Thats strange as billing automatically goes to monthly after the smart meter is installed.
If you look back over your bills you should see a bill that has 2 sets of readings on it. The first that carries on the reading from the previous bill and the second starting at 00000 from when the smart meter was installed. Your new readings will be low numbers compared to previous high readings.
Again if you dont see this the meter is not communicating or its not a smart meter.
As you say, get it checked out by Iberdrola.

Its possible that your smart meter has not been activated yet by Iberdrola.
If this is the case your bills will only be for the standing charge until activation and remain 2 monthly.
This could explain whats happening.

Thanks milor, I have looked at my last bill for period 27/9/2017 to 23/11/2017 does indeed have two readings one being the last bill reading and one showing 000000, so not sure what’s going on. This is my meter a few days ago

Ok all making sense now. Two possibilities....
1 The meter might not be activated yet. There is another thread (see below, Titled Smart Meter Bills dated 29th Jan) where the same has happened and no readings are being submitted.
Or
2. The meter might be activated but not communicating back. This has also happened to a few people as well.
My guess its 1,as you should have had another bill by now if the meter had been activated as it goes to monthly billing.
Not certain if you have the other Iberdrola app, Iberdrola Clients, but you can look at your bills on line as soon as they are calculated. You will need to re register your details to get in.
Either way only Iberdrola can tell you which it is. Call into local Iberdrola office or give them a call (just ask for English speaking) as you have now gone as far as you can.

Once again thanks milor,
Great information I will seek out local office, although not sure where this is, is there one in Algorfa?

Almoradi, Torrevieja, La Zenia, and Guardamar have offices.
Guardamar is where I have been as parking is easy.
Calle Era de Madaleneta, 9, 03140 Guardamar del Segura,
Take a ticket when you go in and take your passport and NIE number as proof of ID.
