Anybody successfully monitoring Spanish smart meter in UK?
by RH1 » Wed Nov 01, 2017 9:03 am
Just had a smart meter fitted - can't make sense of how to connect my tablet so that electricity usage eg on the pool - can be monitored while in the UK - have installed the Iberdrola Clientes App.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I use the app in the UK daily to check my pool is coming on and off and fridge freezer is still on. You can do real time readings, daily, weekly, monthly usage and even remotely reset yourSmart Meter if it trips.
You need to download the Iberdrola Distribution app, not the one that gives you your bills.
Register your app with the details on your bill. They will send you a 4 digit code to enter to get you started. You need a Spanish mobile Number to get this code. If you dont have a Spanish Mobile let me know and I can tell you a way round it.
The app is excellent and even lets you download hourly usage in Excel.

You see the non compatability/not optimised sign on Android when your device is using an older version of Android and not the version that the developer wants you to use. Although it says that, sometimes it will let you download it anyway, if so give it a try, the chances are it will work fine. I have the app on Android 4.2 and Android version 6.0. And both working fine.
Alternatively you can upgrade your Android version to a later version on your tablet.Go to settings, about device, software update. Back up any important data, or move or save on your SD card in case of a problem.
Alternatively you can use the PC version
This link hopefully will take you to the web version of the app which you can use on your PC or alternatively on Chrome or Firefox browser on your Android device.
https://www.iberdroladistribucionelectr ... html#login
Its a hard slog but keep going its worth it.
When you do get to register it asks for a Cups No. Its on your bill as Unified supply point Code. Its a long number at the bottom of Contract Data.Just mentioned this as its not easy to spot.
I had numerous goes at registering as they had my NIE as my Passport number and Visa Versa, so had to keep permutating until I got to the right combination.
Some forums will not allow www. links in posts so if link does not work let me know and can email it to you.
Let me know how you get on.

Fantastic response - thanks for all your help! Got on to thee mail you kindly provided - filled in everything 7 after 20 or so attempts have failed miserably - I get the message "Either the CUPS or ID document are not correct" Thanks to you we got the long CUPS no so it can only be the ID - we used our current & then previous passport no. No joy - we noted you had to swop & we have tried our NIE no - as N/Rs - also our numero de justificante from Modelo 210 also no joy.
Hate to ask for more help but any suggestions please? TIA

All sounds very familiar, just what happened to me, but we are getting there dont give up yet.
I think its to do with the initial verification used when the contract was first started and not the information on the bill. On the drop down list on verification just work through every one trying NIE number and then again passport number for all 6. So for letter try NIE then try passport number. If you have your original Iberdrola contract it should be on this, but highly ulikley you will have it. If it says passport try NIE as well. Lots of permatations to try.
It seems to be hit and miss and makes no sense. In case the property is in joint names try the other NIe, although your bill will show at the top the NIE of the contract holder.
Double check the cups in case you have typed it in wrong as well.
Type info in each time as cut and pasting sometimes will cause problems on forms.
The Id is your original when contract was first registered so unless Iberdrola know your new passport number use your old one.
Keep trying

When I tried to register with Iberdrola online I had a similar problem. I had to enter my NIE number with small letters not capitals to get it to work.

Well done for persevering, you will find its a great app. I use it in conjunction with another app that notifies me of an electrical outage after 20 minutes.Came back to a green pool and non frozen food once. So well covered now.
Always up for a drink!!!! in Benimar 6 months of the year.
Please dont get the gas app, it took me 6 months to get it working. Eventually found out it was a problem on their end rejecting my account.
