Slightly off-topic...but does anyone know why a lot of the hosted feeds seem to come from Irish TV?

They don't generally, but on your service clearly they do ;-)

Feeds generally come from where available, so it will differ with service provider and packages - some will, some won't.....I've not noticed it myself, but likely to be looking at different services (a few).

I suspect if some packages have RTL which is Irish, it may well be bundled up with a few other Irish channels, so probably a case of if you have that one, likely to have a few others with it - though overall only a very % of overall channels.

Most streams come from India and most of the live uk tv players use the same stream witch can be annoying as itv2/3 dave and some other channels always has the person telling you what is happing and a lot have Irish feeds ie € adverts

I don't think anyone can accurately comment on this, as chances are we are all comparing different services, which makes it nigh on impossible to get the same answer.

I'm not seeing the Irish as explained in the same places or have these channels from India as above - though to be fair i've not sat down and checked all the services & as stated suspect the 3 posters who have commented (including myself) chances are comparing 3 different services - so :?: The answer is your service provider is using those streams, as it suits them to!
