Hi All,

Does anyone use or have experience with eurona 4G internet service.

Are they any good?

What is download speed?

Is download speed quite constant? change at peak times?

Any other information? experiences? comments?

Hi, no personal experience of Eurona but I've seen discussions on other local forums about their service.
Most pleople seem happy most of the time, which to paraphrase Winston Churchill is about the best you can expect, but there do seem to be times when the service is slow or unavailable.

If it was a true 4G service then the service would be piggy-backing on the 4G infrastructure of major telecoms providers like Orange, Vodafone, Movistar etc., but it seems that isn't how the technology works. They appear to be using a 4G router with their own SIM and a localised transmission service which doesn't use the infrastructure of the large providers. As a result, their service is only available in a limited geographical area and transmission issues aren't fixed as quickly as they would if Orange, Vodafone etc were fixing the fault.

Eurona were doing a free 5 day trial before you sign-up to a contract, which would be a good way to check-out the performance in your particular location, but it wouldn't tell you how about long-term reliability and their ongoing customer service.

If you had a true 4G service then you'd be able to take your router with you anywhere in Spain and provided you could get a 4G service then you'd have your usual internet service at no extra cost. This might appeal to people with a camper van who wanted to travel around but still get internet and internet TV services. With Eurona this wouldn't work, because of the localised nature of the service.

As I said, this is based on what I've read on other forums, not from personal experience, and the majority of people who have commented seem happy with the service.

Hope this helps.

Pete.

We have been with Eurona for over five years and have now had the 4G for two months. We have had ups and diwns with them but think that would have been the same with any company and we go with better the devil you know than you don't. It cost us nothing to upgrade to the 4G system as an existing customer and we are pleased with it most of the time runs around 28 mg hardly ever drops out and even in bad weather we have still had full internet and phone. Never had any problems with the staff always been very courtesy and polite and the engineers that have come to the house the same.

I don't think is 4G, yet they are using 4G routers. Even though is claimed.

Our technicians are used by a few companies for IT / TV / Internet installs. When we spoke with them we are advised that the 4G they can offer is only a localised service? No it is not. If Eurona have a deal with any provider, then this service would be available outside of Orihuela Costa and surrounding, but it is not. This makes no sense for a 4G service. In fact no other 4G service exists in this manner, leading me to suggest the 4G moniker is not quite as it seems.

I think is a fast rebroadcast system over a localised area - they are using 4G as the 'sales tag' and clearly speeds do seem quite good in some areas. As long as you are in a location they can supply.

I was with Eurona getting 6MB abut then after a while it dropped dramatically when I complained they said ''we never lower the speed'' and was given short shrift. I am now on fibre optic 95MPGS with no problems this is with TV Horadada. La Marina Lady's husband.
