Catchup channels, etc are normally down-loaded from your computer or I-pad

Hi Kiki, I downloaded them onto my firestick in the UK and they worked okay. Have brought it with me to Spain and tried it but won't work.

Hi,

I'd recommend reading up on using something like Hola VPN as your data isn't secure (if something is free, there's a reason for it) - worth a search online at the opinions on this, just so you know the risks. A paid VPN with a good reputation may be your best bet for receiving UK based Internet Services such as Iplayer and catchup TV - some examples here:

Hope that helps.

Starting at the beginning - A firestick (standard not hacked), won't work in Spain - as others have said, it basically locks you out as knows you are outside of the UK.

You can (sometimes) get around this with a VPN, but - many now won't work as BBC etc have software which in turn spots a VPN and blocks it.

Here's one company with a tutorial about VPN's and Firesticks
https://thevpn.guru/install-fire-stick-vpn-tutorial

For reference there are other set-top boxes (with service - pay as you go and otherwise), available which offer all the UK contents, sports/premium & catchup and designed to work without a VPN, though usually cost for any hosted type service.

There is a Facebook group called Amazon firestick how to jail break

They are very helpful in helping you set up your stick to watch loads of channels and install all the apps you will need

I did want a vpn to watch catch up etc but after reading up on it as I only have low internet speed decided that I couldn't be bothered as you can find most stuff without it, you tube for instance is a good source for a lot of programmes

Dailymotion is quite useful for "catching up". I'm not familiar with the Firestick but if it's an Android device then the app may work. Alternatively it can be used on a tablet or laptop etc.
