ou can now get "shotgun" cable in UK (ebay) which is one cable with 2 "runs" - it splits at the

ends for the plugs to be fitted - you obviously still need a twin LNB for 2 feeds - or more, & these are

also available in UK - not sure here

the shotgun cable is about same diameter as single old style cable - no loss of signal power if "run" is not over 20 mtrs

I have an octo (8 feeds obviously) LNB in uk So have sat/freesat in 4 rooms off one dish with twin feeds on each - presume that can be done in Spain ?

On ebay last year I got a brand new dish, level, octo LNB,50 mtrs shotgun cable & clips,8 plugs for £60

Fitted myself in place of the old dish to save on installation costs - all dishes fitted in Spain dont tend to rust like in UK so the

total without the new dish would be about £40 !

Gooner above information - unfortunately the same rules do not apply in Spain. Our signal values are much lower & even with bigger dishes, we have to be careful with LNBs used.

Shotgun cable - generally not supplied by most distributors in Spain, though in reality makes no difference when you are putting the cables through the ducts anyway so you can't see. We also use a slightly thicker high grade of single copper core cable as we are keeping a very close eye on signal losses - again, not such a consideration needed for the UK. Also apartments / communities etc often can require cable runs of 100 m+ so we go in 'heavy' with the cable - using the same type for the longer runs as well the shorter ones.

An Octo offset LNB should not be used in Spain - they are quite a poor LNB reception wise anyway, this is then combined with the size of them and they shield more of the dish, thus weakening signal further still. Cannot use in Spain on small offset, unstable. For 8 feeds, Quattro LNB & multi port switch.

Key points with satellite reception in Spain is the (a) weakness (b) variation of signal strength, in different parts of the frequency bandwidth, due to affect of fringe reception - so there are localised differences, which need to be taken into account to get good performance from a satellite system.
