Hi Lizzie we are with Telitec who are very good - we have our telephone with them too as you then dont have to pay line rental to Telefonica.

You can just have the Internet but worked out cheaper for us to have both (you also get 120 frre mins per month on the phone).

May be worth looking into.

Hi Ferryfan,
Does the internet ever crash? is it a good speed? do they speak good English? I am only asking because I am thinking of changing from Europa.

Sorry Lizzie forgot you. I use Europa. It's brilliant and I get cheap calls. I'm thinking of changing because the girl I spoke to to ask something didn't seem interested in me.

Hi Lizzie,
We're with SkyNetLink after a period of being ripped-off by Telefonica. It's totally wireless, so have receiver mast on roof. Excellent service, English-speaking staff (installation guys struggle a bit but they're polite and very helpful. 16 hours free calls to UK landlines a month, good internet speed. Only down is that service SOMETIMES crashes during electrical storms. A friend of mine has had a lot of bother with Europa- she says they are very unhelpful (2 weeks to fix fault on line)

Hi, Our mast is probably about 2 metres above roof height. When we joined with them 2 years ago,the signal had to come from Algorfa. I understand they have a closer link now and it all depends where you house is in relationship to their main aerial. I think you can also use an existing Telefonica line. Try phoning on 902 006 966 and speak to "Jodie", or you could email her [email protected] and she'll give you all the up-to-date gen. She seems to start work around 10:15. They take a siesta, but work quite late into the evening. Website is www.skynetlink.com.
Also, there are many alternatives to "Iberdrola" the scanky power company. Worth looking as there are about 30 power suppliers in Spain many of whom are much cheaper

We have a computer and phone on a wireless system, and are going to use them for our TV. After the initial cost (around €100 for a TV box) viewing is free - so we will not have to pay out a monthly fee to Torresat whether we are in Spain or not.

We can ask for the system to be switched on and off - very handy for when we are not there - no one running up bills on our phone!! We have to pay a monthly amount of €5 to keep our phone number whilst we are not there, but for someone who only spends about 4 months in Spain it is really cost effective.
