Not sure if this is for the same year / model - though may be of help. Click on to make bigger.

Are you watching Spanish TV?
Most Brits tend to use a satellite box or IPTV box. If you're doing this then the favourites will be stored on the sat box or IPTV box, bot on the TV. The TV will just be set to whichever HDMI input your box is connected to.

If you're watching English TV in Spain then you must be using some sort of box connected to your TV. Do you have a sattelite box?

Hi Pete about 3 month before i got this smart tv, my telly guy put me a system in with my own dish on the sunroof and the cable coming into a tiny square box which has written on, digital saterlitte receiver which with my previous tv let me put favs on no bother, i was concerned when my friends on hol connected the cable up to the tv rather than the box but it worked they got the channels but would not let me lock in favs. thats why i asked the telly man back to check it was ok and he said yes new tvs you can connect to them with the cable, so i dont know do u think the aerial cable should be connected upto the box rather than the tv.

This will depend on the TV - some (not all) smart TV's now have a satellite tuner (DVBS-2) built in, so you do not need a separate set top box (satellite receiver). Though I would state that any TV that I have seen which has a satellite tuner inbuilt, seems to not do the job as well as a separate set top box - often missing some of the functionality you get with a separate receiver.

Last smart TV we installed a satellite system on - client had LG smart TV, with satellite tuner built in - though was useless, missed some of the frequencies and no guide - not even now and next. Client ended up getting a cheap receiver and not using the one inbuilt into the TV. It can be a bit of a false economy - as by the time you spend an extra €200 on the TV's smart features for satellite - a standalone satellite receiver often does the job better and cheaper, than those included on the more expensive TV's.

Quesadalad - why not just contact Sharp support from their website and see if they can advise on the favourites situation.

With your previous setup, your favourites would have been stored on your sattelite box, not on your TV. Your old TV would have been connected to the sattelite box with an HDMI or scart lead and the TV would have the appropriare AV input selected. The TV itself wouldn't have been tuned into any channels, so it wouldn't have known how to store your favourites. The favourites would have been stored on the satellite box.

I can't find any info about Sharp Aquos net+ TV's that have sattelite tuners built into them, but if the cable from the dish is connected directly to the TV then that's what you must have.

If your previous setup worked well then I'd go back to it. Connect the wire from the dish into the satellite box and connect the box to the TV with an HDMI cable. Then use the remote control for the satellite box to control your channels and set your favourites (on the box rather than on the TV.
