The OP has an Ethernet cable running from the router to the MAG box, which does the same thing as your powerline adapter (actually, it does a better job as it will be faster, less prone to interference and more reliable in the long term). The issue was that a a second connection, to a smart TV, was required. If your powerline adaptor had multiple outlets then you’d simply plug another cable from that to the smart TV, but if it only had one outlet then a switch would be required to give the additional Ethernet connection (or a second powerline adaptor at each end, but that would be getting messy).

You can buy them with dual outlets. I use two pairs as I have a zgemma box too.

I’m aware that a direct connection is preferable, but rather than drill through walls and run cables, the power line connectors are a simpler solution
