Sky boxes and cards

Sky boxes and cards

Postby John T » Thu Aug 10, 2017 2:53 pm

We are moving to Quesada in September, and are intending bringing all my sky boxes, 3, and cards. Will they work in Spain the Villa has a 1.9m dish but don't know what type. How complicated is it to set everything up, if it is any recommendation of a good local company to set it all up

Hi yes they will work fine as long as dish is pointed in right direction which if you have bought off British I would hope it is

The only thing is that if you want to run more than I box off it you might need to get a multiple Lnb

Hello before you get to excited... remember not to tell Sky where you are going. Good luck.

Trust me sky do not care its ths people who are pulling the signal in then relaying it out to poor unsuspecting customers that are breaking the law.

We bought our dish 15 years ago its saved us a fortune

Don't plug it into the internet as they will see your IP address and know your not into the U.K. Other than that works perfectly.

We live part of the time in the uk and part of the time in Quesada. We have sky hd+ boxes in both houses and bring our uk card with us to Spain. In the uk, you can record two channels at once or watch one and record another. In Spain, we can record a program but we must be on that channel so handy if you are going out and want to record a program. You can also use pause, rewind etc in the main channels but doesn't work on some channels.

We had inherited a sky box and card when we bought our house and get the basic channels on this without a subscription. We do have a satellite dish.

Hope this info helps :)

If you ran another cable from the dish to your Sky box then you'd be able to watch one channel and record another (or record two different channels at the same time). You'd need an LNB on the dish with at least two outlet, but chances are you have this already.

If you bring your viewing card over from the UK then you have to 'pair' it with the Sky box in Spain, then pair it with your UK box when you get back home. Previously you had to call Sky to do this, but you can now do it online. However, if you do it too many times, or too often, then Sky may want to know what you're up to.

Pete.
