Wi Fi assistance

Wi Fi assistance

Postby Super Simon » Thu Feb 15, 2018 5:29 pm

Hi everyone ,
I’ve used Orange for my wi fi for over a year and whilst it hasn’t been great it has been sufficient .
However I’ve arrived over today for a few days and there is an issue with connecting to my wi fi and the message states my ADSL line is down .
I’ve checked all connections but no success so I wondered if someone could pass on details of a repair engineer ?
I used a really helpful guy called David Penn but his number isn’t in use anymore .
I’d really like this dealt with tomorrow as my wife and family will be over next and I’m sure we all know how helpful wi fi is when you have kids ?

Many thanks.

There's been a problem with broadband and internet connection in the area for a couple of days due to a fault in one of the main hubs. It has been fixed (ours has been going on and off since Monday) and the advice was to switch off and restart your router. I found it best to unplug it completely, leave about a minute or two and then plug it back in and switch it on.
Touch wood it's been OK for most of yesterday and today.
Network connection has been fine but internet not connecting.

Hi Marcliff ,

Tried to switch off etc but it’s still not responding .
Tried the Orange store in Habaneras but I was told they couldn’t help .
They did give me a number for Customer Service but when I tried the number it was unavailable.
Maybe as the systems are down ( trying to be optimistic ) .

Once again many thanks and fingers crossed will be back online soon .

Kind regards

Earlier in the week there was a problem with one of the Internet backbones that link some of the local ISPs to Madrid. This backbone acts as a major data pipeline, but it seems that it was repaired the next day.

Your router should have an ADSL light on it. It normally takes a minute or so for this to light up after powering the router up, and it won’t light if there is an ASDL line problem, or if there is a fault with your microfilter (assuming that you’re using one).

You said that you get a message saying that your ADSL line is down. This seems like a strange wording for a message, is this exactly what it says, and when/where do you get the message?

Morning Pete ,

Thank you for your reply .
The message came from my I phone when I tried to connect to my Orange wi fi .
It said there was a fault with the line .see attachment ( hope the attachment works )
I’m happy to call Orange but the helpline number just cuts off after 1 ring .

Many thanks

Simon

Okay, so you’re getting the message when you log in to your router rather than when you connect to the Wi-Fi. That makes sense.
Looks like a call to Orange then. Is there a contact number for support on your bills?

Pete.

This is the Orange phone number to call.

Alternatively you may call our customer care centre, for assistance in English, French or German. Just dial 900 906 121
