WLAN Connection to my Android phone.

WLAN Connection to my Android phone.

Postby siestasunbeds » Sat Jul 29, 2017 7:29 pm

Desperate for some sound advice regarding my WLAN connection to my android phone.Had no trouble at all connecting when we arrive , simply connected automatically. But , when going outside I have been " disconnected " and cannot reconnect . Never happened before. I have tried absolutely everything , Googled you tube videos without success. As it is our business number I cannot lose any info in it so restoring to factory settings is not an option. Any suggestions please.

Have you tried the quick and simple 'fix' of selecting the wlan you connect to and choose 'forget' . . . This makes your device lose the password etc . . You then select the wlan again and reenter password and it often fixes the problem?

Maggie
My next suggestion is restart/reboot phone and or router . . . If that fails try logging into someone else's wlan . . . If that connects ok it may clear cobwebs out of system and you connect to yours ok then . . . These devices can be temperamental at times . . .

I'd try the following, in this order...
Switch off the router and wait 10 seconds. Power it up again and wait a couple of minutes.
Restart your phone, if you can remove the battery then do that and wait a couple of minutes before restarting.
Forget the Wi-Fi network and then re-connect to it.

If these don't work then check that other people can connect/reconnect to your network with their phones. If they can then you will probably need to do a backup/reset/restore of your phone.
You say that it has lots of business contacts in the phone, so you should be backing it up regularly anyway. If you do the backup/restore correctly then you won't lose anything.

Many thanks Pete.Have done each step as advised. And yes everything is regularly backed up so have reset and still saying " disconnected " . Iphones and laptop working so as all else has failed , trying EE for technical support. So let's see.

No luck with EE there are now saying try Lenovo customer services , a bit annoying as my contract with an Internet facility is with E E.The most frustrating point is it was working perfectly for 1 day until I went into the garden and the WLAN disconnected. Very very frustrating .
