Guardamar local buses

Jan, I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on the Habaneras bus, it ran for at least one full summer & as I said in my previous post, we used it almost every week & it was never full, we even joked to ourselves that it was "our own free taxi" because there was never anyone else on it. As for Habaneras not needing the free buses now because it is so busy, I would say you probably haven't been for a while, it is usually (rebajas weeks excepted) very quiet & a couple of units are now empty & awaiting someone to take them on, now is definitely the time to reinstate the free bus service before we lose this valuable & attractive centre to the boulevard.
I agree there are many more people around now & perhaps a "hopper" bus similar to the ones used around Guardamar & to El Raso & the beaches may work, but if no one uses the existing bus service from Rojales ( I know its not central quesada but there are lots of properties/people around LA Marquesa golf area) then we will find it very difficult to convince the town hall & bus companies that it would be a viable proposition.
Just my opinion,
Kind regards,
Dave.

Would be nice if Guardamar followed their time table. I waited over 2 hours for the bus from the airport last week which didnt show up. Had to get a taxi in the end. Has anybody else been successful with this service?

Janice, do you mean the Torrevieja bus from the airport??? There isn't a bus to Guardamar from the airport, you would need to get a bus from the airport into Alicante bus station & then the (Cartagena) bus to Guardamar.
I know the Cartagena bus is regular as we catch it quite often & I know people who use the airport/Torrevieja bus & have never had a problem.
Regards,
Dave.

No, they are now advertising a bus from the airport to Guardamar and Torrevieja along the N332 with Santa Pola also shown as a stop running from (I think) beginning of July to end of September. It is the same stop as the Torrevieja and Elche bus. It has a map showing where the stops are and even has a connection from Guardamar to Rojales with the bus numbers on it. It runs every hour.
Unfortunately my phone was in my hold luggage to avoid security so couldn't take a picture of it.
There was also another bus advertised (also starting beginning of July) that took in Urb La Marina and Guardamar.

Be interested to know if you can find more info on this Marcliff as googling I can only find they did it in 2012 from 1st July to 31st August.

It was advertised on the bus stop at Alicante airport. Had a map of the stops etc. It showed it going from the airport to Santa Pola, Guardamar, La Mata, Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa. Starting beginning of July and we were there on 21st June so not up and running then.
If anyone is at the airport and could take a photo of the route it would be good as it also gave the timings and the timing of the connection to Rojales.

Interesting that they're not allowed to advertise journeys back from Guardamar!?
Do they stop at Guardamar on route to airport from La Manga I wonder?
Presumably its because they are primarily serving Murcia province and not Alicante.
But the Costa Azul service which does Guardamar to Alicante goes to the bus station & not the airport!
