Is it possible to walk from La marquesa Golf to Quesada town centre? Is there a bus? How much would a taxi cost?

Done that walk several times and takes about an hour if you are fit. Bit of a hike up the hill from the golf course bur second bit of the walk is OK. Also had Quesada cabs do that trip for around 6-8 euros. If u walk it, you will probably need to stop for a beer at the Country Club about half way into town... Lol. Stu..

I live by the practice range at Marquesa golf & do the walk regularly, having said that I also walk to Guardamar & los montesinos. Beware of taxi prices, as Stu & Maz say, you can get a cab for 6 to 8 euros BUT I have been charged as much as 17 euros & made him stop at the roundabout by Sabores restaurant with no other explanation than "that is what the meter says"

Dave.

Thanks for the info. I think too far to walk as my husband has just had a hip replacement. Will look at renting somewhere nearer to Quesada town.

Hi Karen,
Walking to Guardamar takes around an hour & a quarter from our house. From the car park/Thursday market site simply follow the bank of the segura, it is a rough path but usually plenty of cyclists, joggers & dog walkers along the way.
For los montesinos, it is around two hours with a refreshment stop in quesada. Walk up the steep hill past the treatment plant & towards the quesada country club, from there you can either follow the road or take the path through the park beside the QCC. Once in quesada, go through the arches to the big roundabout, it is quite tricky & perhaps a little dangerous crossing the main road but once across, head for Alonso garage & the cycle path. Do not stick to the cycle path but follow the old Camino (country path) also called the canal road, this will get you to URB LA herrada, from there it is a five or so minute walk into the centre of montesinos.
Hope this helps,
Dave.

Dear Peepops (OP), to address your real question ie is it possible for an average (ie not superfit or fanatic Walker) to walk from quesada golf to quesada centre, the answer is No. The enthusiastic walkers ( good on them) replying so far have omitted to mention there is one stonking great hill to get up, a hill so steep that if you suffer from vertigo you could not tackle, even if you were superfit. I am assuming of course that " Quesada Golf" means down by the golf course. The good thing tho is that from there ( around golf Course) it is a level walk c. 20 minutes into Rojales town and all its amenities plus there are good amenities ie supermarket and pubs, restaurant s etc around the golf course, all on the level, so there would be no need to go to quesada centre specifically... So just think first about what you are looking to have close by.

I have to disagree with Shiva there. Yes the hill up past the treatment plant may be a little steep but my wife who is mildly asthmatic manages it quite easily & I suffer with arthritis in my leg joints, again (mostly) mildly. That hill takes around ten minutes for us to walk up, ten minutes out of an otherwise very pleasant walk.
I do agree with Shiva regarding Rojales though, if you take the time out to "explore" the village there are numerous bars & restaurants tucked away as well as little boutiques & specialist shops ie, tailors, cobblers, knitting wool, cosmetics etc etc. The area around the golf course does have some lovely bars & restaurants, I do think the supermarket, although handy, is perhaps one of the most expensive around.
Regards,
Dave.
