Conversational Spanish

Conversational Spanish

Postby Chaymondo » Mon Oct 02, 2017 4:18 pm

I want to learn conversational Spanish but don't want to sit in a classroom as I get too distracted by other people trying to learn. I tried Berlingua - they are very good but they go into so much detail I get very confused.

We found Berlingua very good. I have written a childrens book and had it translated into Spanish. Left hand page is in English, and right hand page is exactly the same in Spanish, and Berlingua translated it for me. It is called
The Multicoloured Hat/El Sombrero Multicolor and available from all Amazon
sites. It is very suitable for adults learning Spanish as the language is simplistc. When we were learning we were told to get childrens books and they did help.
Good luck.

Try Alan at Bar Catorce. It is a classroom environment however, is so well structured that distraction from others doesn't seem to happen. Very good interaction between "pupils", well thought out lessons with a homework sheet every week, and for the first 50 lessons a sheet each week of information about Spanish culture, history and places of interest.

A new class, I believe, is starting next Wednesday at 12.30, 5€. There were some places available last week for this new class but I do not know if they have been taken.

Email address: [email protected]

This is half term week and Alan is away until the weekend, so if you do email don't panic if you do not get a reply straight away. Good Luck

Free app to download that is good is Duolingo.
Then Rojales town hall run an intercambio where they will link you up with a Spanish person who wants to improve their English & you can then meet regularly to chat over a cup of coffee etc.
We did that for a couple of years with a couple of nice girls & found it quite good.
