What is the best way of getting to Granada for a few days. The coach trips are doing the wrong days for the trip I need to do....how else can you get there if not driving there?

You can get a bus from Cartagena to Granada via Murcia. Some are overnight but I think there is one day time one.
The Alicante to Cartagena bus goes through Torrevieja but you'd have to look at the website to see if they match up for connections.
Alternatively, you could check the Alicante to Granada trains which (I think) involves a change somewhere.

Granada by train it takes you to the centre where the hotels are. I know on one train they also serve a delicious meal. It is worth finding out about the costs as my friends done this 2 years ago. They loved it and are doing this again.

Just a thought, go to a travel agent and they get good deals on hotel and travel. We drove there a few years ago and found no problem as the hotel had parking facilities.
Every one should go to Granada, absolutely beautiful and visit the Palace , the gardens have fabulous views.
Lots of restaurants and atmosphere is super. Go man GOooo!

We drove there last May and loved Granada three days was not enough to see everything. Getting there was easy with beautiful views but driving and parking in Granada can be a nightmare especially if you have anything more than a small car. Book The Alhambra well in advance or be prepared to join the queue at 0600 to make sure of getting tickets.

Have done both ,coach was great info on the way down was so interesting, nice hotel.
Drove again no problem getting a hotel or parking but coach was more fun, plus great value.
