HI WERE LEAVING QUESADA TO DRIVE BACK TO EDINBURGH IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. DOES ANYONE HAVE
ANY ADVICE ON BEST ROUTES AVOIDING TOLLS AND TAKING IT EASY.
WE DROVE OVER A YEAR AGO BUT CAME THROUGH PARIS ETC. WOULD LIKE TO GO HOME A MORE SCENIC ROUTE THAT ALLOWS US A FEW OVERNIGHT STOPS AS WE HAVE A DOG.
ANY ROUTES/DIRECTIONS WOULD BE GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED.

Hi this route costs just under 50 Euro on the French auto routes. Quesada to Alicante A7, then A31 to madrid turning off at La Font de la Figuera, just past the big prison on the right and the BP garage. North of Valencia but still on the ring road you need A23 to Teruel, Daroca and Zargoza. On the Zargoza ring follow Huesca to Huesca, Jaca, and the SOMPORT Tunnel. Now in France follow N134 to OLORON st MARIE. Just befor going into the town with the first exit to the town take the second exit and head North West to Navarrenx on the and Sauveterre de Bearn on the N936. now take the road to Peyrehorade.

Just north of Bordeaux there is a great truck stop on the left, at about 25 euro for a room. At Poitier you join the N10 and now its paying to Boulogne. N10 to T OURS, THEN I think A28 TO Le Mans, Alencon to Rouen. Still on A28 now head for Abbeville and boulogne and on to Calais for free again. You must know from Dover A2, then M25, Mi now AI and AIM north to edinburgh.......... Good luck........Mike

We usually use the toll roads because we drive to 60 miles north of Edinburgh and it is such a long way we prefer to pay the toll to shorten the journey. We drive with two dogs and there are plenty of picnic areas to exercise the dogs from the motorway. It is also easier driving on the toll roads because there is generally less traffic because of the cost. We normally stop at a small town in the evening rather than a city which is more relaxing.
We drove back 2 weeks ago but the weather here is atrocious, so stay in Spain as long as you can

Yes Amanda, just north of Bordeaux, ginormous truck stop with abot 25 euro charge for a room....With it being full of trucks the food must be good and cheapish as well. Its on the left hand side of the motorway, you cant miss it. Mike
