Beware of bad weather driving from Santander Feb 2015

Hello there
Just as a heads up to anyone travelling over in the next couple of days to Spain, I've pasted a post from the Spectrum Almeria Facebook page news from today about the snowfall yesterday - unreal. Drive safe if you have to travel.

Snow leaves 100 Brits trapped on motorway in northern Spain
BRITISH holidaymakers and expats were among hundreds of drivers trapped on the A-67 in Cantabria and Castilla y León who had to be dug out by police and the fire brigade after 16 inches of snow blocked the highway.
Some 220 people were forced to abandon their cars as temperatures of as low as -15ºC brought freak snowstorms across the motorway, stopping them from proceeding.
Around 100 of these were Brits, many of whom had driven down from Santander in Cantabria after catching the ferry from Portsmouth, believing they were going to be escaping the UK winter by travelling to Spain.
Armed forces were drafted in to help drivers get out of their vehicles after hours of waiting and freezing in an immobile queue.
Lorries which had capsized, and cars which were left behind by fleeing drivers and passengers were stacked up along the motorway and national highways between Santander and Palencia, further south in Castilla y León.
The evacuees had to stay overnight in the sports halls of two nearby schools and the canteen of a local hotel.
Snow is expected to get worse and temperatures to continue to plummet until at least Tuesday this coming week.
Catalunya and Andalucía have also been hit by snow as well as winds of up to 120 kilometres per hour which have caused interruptions with rail traffic.
