If you're looking for a Ford I highly recommend Talleres Martinez in San Miguel. We're on our second new car from them and they are excellent.

Depends on what you are after. The road along by Iceland in Torrevieja has all the main car dealers there (Seat, Nissan, Mercedes, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Fiat, Puegeot and others)and all right next to each other. They all have someone who speaks English and will offer deals/trade ins and "specials". They will arrange all the paperwork and you will need your residence card (if you have one), your passport, NIE number (if no residence card) and padron (doesn't need to be up to date but just so they can check your address). Oh, and the money, of course.
New car prices (now the pound has fallen) are about the same as UK.

That's very helpful and it's probably where we will start and have a look

We recently bought a new car through Kia in Elche and their service from start to finish (in English) has been wonderful. They were €1000 cheaper than Kia in Torrevieja for the same new car, which they simply accredited to being in a more "Spanish" area. A friend recently bought a new Mitsubishi from Albacete and saved more than €1200 compared to the local dealer, so it really pays to shop around main dealers in different areas. None of these cars were ex demos or pre-registered, so they should have been the same price, but they weren't.
Also worthy of a mention are Car Broker Spain on Main Street Benijofar. They offered us several cars at great prices and, although they were second hand cars, they offered a really good deal.
Good luck with your new purchase

We have just purchased a new car from Citroen dealer in Benijofer. They speak perfect English and are very helpful.
They also have previously owned cars for sale, some with low milage and full service history.
