The insurance documents themselves don't change. My ones still have 2013 on them which is when I bought the car. However, I get an updated green card each year showing the new dates of validity.
You should also get a receipt when you pay with the date clearly shown and this is really all the police require if you are stopped.

The police do not require to see any insurance papers they do a computer check before they approach the car so know what you have got or not
I have never needed Insurance papers for ITV just the cars docs

The bank is supposed to send you a receipt with "PAGADO" stamped across it. I only had one the first year and none since.
I go on to online banking, click on the direct debit and it expands to show who you paid it to and on what date and I print this off and carry that in the car.

as I pointed our there is no requirement for any insurance docs to be carried although it is a good idea if you have a accident so you can fill in the declaration form
