English car in Spain points for and against?

we have a 2014 Vauxhall Corsa in the uk and are just weighing up the pros and cons of taking it over to Spain and reregistering it. We have driven over a few times and found no problem with the driving either motorway or around the villages, the cost of reregistering seems ok. Has anyone any advice or points we haven't considered? What are the pitfalls? Are parts easy to come by if repairs are needed?

Hi with the car you have parts would not be a problem as long as you are happy the only thing is overtaking, my problem driving RHD in Spain is when I go back remembering which side to drive on!

Don't forget to price up headlights if they need changing they can be expensive depending on the car.

I learnt to drive in a right hand drive car in Germany, we brought our car from UK when we moved over to Spain a few years ago ...the only problem I have is when you have to put a parking ticket in a machine if you are on your own ... I changed headlights and you may have to move fog light to other side before coming over.....there are a few sites on Internet who sell them then paid a garage to fit them ....cheaper than Spain ...our car is also a Vauxhall ....good luck ....

I've just taken one over which I'll put on Spanish plates in time. The major benefit it the difference in cost!
Not sure if it's true but I was told that if you commence the transfer within 30 days of applying for residency you avoid any import duties. Anyone know if that is so?
