Has anyone used Hertz rent2buy programme for their car?

Hi,
That time has come whereby we are looking to buy a car. We have spotted one we like and we're going to try it under the Hertz rent2buy programme when next back in sunny Spain. My query is this; has anyone bought of this Hertz programme before and if so how was the experience? Secondly their FAQs state after purchase they will send out all transferred paperwork etc within 5-7 weeks, is this the norm, what happens if I'm stopped by GC in the meantime? Oh buying a car here in UK is so much less confusing lol.

You will get a temporary cover note for the car documents stating date of purchase, new docs applied for and so on.
Not bought from Hertz but did buy from Goldcar sales in Torrevieja which is a similar thing. Although they said it would take 4 or 5 weeks for the transfer paperwork, it was actually back about 10 days later.

There's also a site in Spain where you can check on the vehicle history. They charge €9.99 and will give you the dates of ITV inspections, history of car tax payments, kilometer reading and so on.
Probably not so critical if buying from a reputable dealer but may be worth it if buying privately (or from some of the dodgy dealers we've heard about).
Carfax

Open it in Google and it will translate it for you.
