How much would it cost to make my car legal in Spain?

we move over this summer and we plan to take our 2004 passat with us.
it isnt worth very much but is very reliable.
i have read various conflicting information about what i need to do when i get there with the car and what the costs will be.
could anyone clarify how much it will cost ect to have my car made legal in spain.

Probably around 800 euro. You need to have the headlights changed and the fog light moved to the other side. Then there are registration fees, mechanical inspection and so on. You might want to engage someone who knows the system to do the paperwork for you.
You can cut costs by seeing if you can get headlights from ebay or a scrapyard.
