The 1st thing is , don't worry about it , it comes quite natural , I actually prefer it , I live in the UK and come over 6 times a year , never give it a second thought , just follow everyone else , you'll be surprised how quick u pick it up , on your 2nd day you'll be doing it all naturally, the only thing to be carefully off is at islands as the Spanish , even tho turning left get in the right hand lane and just go all around the outside lane , but this is how they are taught , even the police do it ....just beware and don't just pull out thinking they are turning . Good luck and remember to get in the drivers side and not the passengers side like I do sometimes. Ha ha. Glynn

Re driving on the left, it's easier if you are driving a LHD car, but where it is busy, it ok, just follow the traffic, the worst bit is if you get lost out in the country, and trying to find your way,it is easy to forget, and yes roundabouts can be a nightmare, proceed with care and use your mirrors all the time! After time you can relax, but not too much, good luck.

I would agree with all the above tips but the one thing I noticed when I first started driving a left hand drive car was a tendency to move the wheel slightly when changing gear. It quickly disappeared with practice but I was conscious of it at first

Well I can't seem to get my confidence up! Husband drives but I would love to be able to drive so I can go out to our house myself, have tried a couple of times
But get a bit panicky and some if the road markings leave me confused,
But I won't let it beat me and will keep trying .

I agree with all the above comments. Concerning road markings, if you want to turn left and the centre line is a solid white no overtaking line, then you cannot turn and have to continue to the first roundabout and come back on yourself. The police are very keen to fine you if you cross the line or do a U turn. If there are a few dotted lines opposite where you want to turn then you can do so legally.
It took me a while to be able to judge the width of my hire cars at first and I found it difficult to turn and look over my other shoulder when reversing, but everything else was fine.
I'm sure you will be fine.

just a quick tip someone told me and it helped when I started to drive over here, remember that the steering wheel is always in the middle of the road that way you don't drive on the wrong side of the road. happy driving, it's a lot easier than you think.
