What's the best route getting into France from Zaragoza?

I am travelling up to the UK in December to Calais,the question I need to ask is whats the best route getting into France from Zaragoza,is the Pyrenees unsafe due to snow or am I better going all the way up to Irun and crossing the border there.

Unless its actually snowing the Pyrenees are safe using the Somport tunnel and then heading to Oloron, then NW to the N10 at junction 10 where its free north to Poitiers.

So you know what I am talking about, i used to have a house south of Poitier. You have 2 major cultural shocks coming your way. 1 French prices for groceries, fruit and veg and 2 the weather for about 6 to 9 months of the year its atrocious compared to Spain, cold wet and windy or even cold with severe frosts. Oil central heating is expensive as well. Anyway good luck if you have alreaday decided.

No,only stopping in Anguoleme for 1 night,could,t afford to live in France though I do like it.Thanks for your info.

Y not go on the boat from Santander, can give a number to save 10% on boat cost if that helps.to drive back or the boat sorry have to say it,s a no brainer. All the cost,s of driving back petrol,B&B ,food,motorway cost,s add it up or boat 22hrs back in UK. Thank u.

Will do next time m8,have booked the hotels and the trip back using as a holiday.
