Almoradi - Moors and Christians Fiesta July/August 2015

The spectacular Almoradi Moors and Christians fiesta is underway and the celebrations from 30th July are shown below - Friday 31st July, Saturday 1st August and Sunday 2nd August are the main parades - Programme of events are shown below - The translation may be a bit basic but it gives some idea of the events:

Thursday, July 30

08:00 am: Early morning parade with pipes and drums. Accompanied by bigheads.

20:00: Mass in honor of the Holy Stone, San San Abdon and Senen, where the offering of fruits from the garden, with participation of Queens, and authorities and the orchard Peña of Almoradi is performed. Then procession in his honor.

20:15:Meeting of the Moors in the Kabilas and the Christians in the Cuartelillos. Departure to Cortez Theater.

20:30 Entrance Parade of the Moors and Christians from Calle Mayor to the Plaza de la Constitución.

21:30: Entrance of the authorities in front of City Hall.

21:45: Presentation of the 2015 festive charges in the Plaza of the Constitution. Proclamation by José Lucas Seva.

22:45: Battle of the Moors and taking of the castle.

23:45: Party and dancing in the Kabilas and cuartelillos.



FRIDAY JULY 31

08:00 am: Moors and Christians meet at the castle gates.

20:30: Entrance music bands participating in the parade. From the courts to Valencia Street Theatre.

21:30 Parade of the Moors from Calle Valencia.

Midnight onwards : Partying at the Kabilas and Cuartelillos.



SATURDAY AUGUST 1

08:00 am: Moors and Christians meet at the castle gates.

20:30: Entrance music bands participating in the parade. From Cortez to Valencia Street Theatre.

21:30 Parade of the Christians from Calle Valencia.


Midnight onwards : Partying at the Kabilas and Cuartelillos.



SUNDAY AUGUST 2

08:00 am: Moors and Christians meet at the castle gates.

11:00: Meeting of the Moors in the Kabilas and the Christians in the Cuartelillos, Then they all parade to the Plaza de la Constitution.

11:30: Embassy barrel in the Plaza of the Constitution.

20:45 : Meeting of the Moors in the Kabilas and the Christians in the Cuartelillos, then all parade to the Plaza de la Constitution.

21:45: Embassy Christian side and battle to take the castle.

23:00: Dancing in the Kabilas and cuartelillos.

01:00: Gran Alborada finale.
