Arts weekend at the caves April/May 2016

Postby Martin the artist » Sat Mar 05, 2016 9:43 am

No details yet, BUT if past years are anything to go by, this year’s arts spectacle at the Rojales arts caves - Cuevas del Rodeo - will not disappoint.

The last 2 years have seen arts workshops, demonstrations of craft work, dance shows, live music performances, life drawing, exhibitions, historic re-enactments, open cave houses, bars with tapas, etc..

Starting at 7.30pm on Friday April 29th & continuing on Saturday & Sunday, 30th April & 1st May, from 10.30am till late, the full programme has yet to be released but with well known names taking part during the last 2 years events, it’ll be good to see who & what the town hall is lining up this year.

Directions to the caves may be found here: http://www.CostaArt.Net/caves.html

A new poster for the event has been produced showing some of the participants, but no timetable yet...
(My open life drawing classes will be 11am to 1pm on Sat & Sun & another either 2pm to 4pm or later depending on the heat.)

There will be something open - i.e. the information cave (cave 6), Carmen (leather worker in cave 5) & the Sala Mengolero (gallery cave 4) - if not open ask Marie-Jesus in information cave or Carmen - between around 11am & 2.30pm.
But Monday isn't officially one of their open days.
Other days you may find more caves open & the bar may open around 12ish too.
But the area itself is worth a visit on its own too with the views etc.

Have been able to get a proof copy of the programme - so guess it'll be printed soon - but for anyone interested, here's the programme for the arts festival weekend:-
