Guardamar is holding its Moors and Christians Fiesta 2015 in honour of Saint Jaime from the 17th to the 26th July. A full programme of events can be obtained from the Ayuntamiento or the Tourist office in Guardamar.


Here's a basic translation of the various events from Sunday 19/07/15;

Day 19th July Sunday

13:00hrs Ringing of bells and launching of rockets

20:00 hrs Parade of the Fiesta Queens, the Captains and Ambassadors of the Moors & Christians and music bands. Route: leaving from the town hall, going along Ingeniero Mira finishing at the Parque Reina Sofia
20:30 hrs Grand Concert in the Parque Renia Sofia.Colomina. There will also be the giving of the prizes from the contest "Villa de guardamar" 2015.

Place: Park Queen Sofia.

24:00hrs. Partying at the Barraca.

Day 20th July Monday

13:00 hrs Ringing of bells and launching of Rockets.

20:30hrs Song and Dance concert in the Renia Sofia park.
From Guardamar and the ballets of Sofia Sanchez, Chari Candela, Lara and Jacqueline.
Place: Park Queen Sofia.

22:30hrs Correcofcs. Route: leave from below the townhall, along C/ Miguel Hernández, C/ San Francisco, C/ Aúsias March, C/ San Jaime, Plaza de Abastos, C/ Ingeniero Mira finishing at the Plaza de la Constitucion.

24:00hrs Partying in the Barraca

Day 21st July Tuesday

13:00hrs Ringing of bells and launching of Rockets.

21:00 hrs. A small parade accompanied by their corresponding bands of music will rove about in different streets and finish in the plaza of the constitution at approximately 22:00 hrs. There, all the bands perform together a march mora, a March Christian and end with the anthem of parties.

24:00hrs Partying in the Barraca

Day 22nd July Wednesday

13:00 hrs Ringing of bells and launching of Rockets.

20:00 hrs First Guerrillas - mock battle - starting on avda. Valencia corner c / Lepanto up to the square of the constitution. In the first place are the Christians, followed by the moor side.

21:00 hrs Entry to the castle. Leaving from the square farmers, the parade Christian " the CID " will be the first to occupy his post, then, will the parade mora " nomads ". Once located will take place the embassy mora representives, the taking of the castle and villa de guardamar by the moor side.
At the end of this will follow a parade along Calle Mayor to the Plaza Labradores.

Day 23rd July Thursday

13:00 hrs Ringing of bells and launching of Rockets.

20:00 hrs Second Guerrilla mock battle with the start of the shot in the plaza of the stronghold, continuing for the c / of the castle, c / gratitude and ending in the plaza of the constitution. On this occasion first side will be moors, followed by the Christians.

21:00 hrs Entry to the castle. With start on avda. Valencia with corner c / noon, the parade moros "nomads", That will take up his post, and then it will make the entry into the same the parade Christian "the cid". Once located will start the embassy Christian and the subsequent trial of the traitor, moor representives the restablishment of a castle and villa de guardamar by the Christians.
Once completed there will take place the parade along Avda. País Valencià to Plaça dels Pescadors.

Day 24th July Friday. Entry Christian.

13:00hrs Ringing of bells and launching of Rockets.


20:30hrs. Christian enter beginning at avda. Valencia corner c / Lepanto Discurrirá, avda. Valencia, and finishing at C/ Mayor at the corner with C/ Norte.

Day 25th July Saturday San Jaime

11:30 hrs The Parade with Fiesta Queens, Moors and Christians, Captains, Flag Bearers and Musical Bands. Leaving from the La Junta Central en C/ Colón, 32, along C/Colón, C/ Gratitud, C/ San José, C/ Ingeniero Mira, C/ Ausias March, C/Las Viñas, C/Luis Rivera, C/Mediodía, C/Vicente Ramos, C/ Ingeniero Mira and finishing in the Plaza de la Constitución.

12:30hrs Reception of the Moor and Christians Captains at the town hall
Reception in the M.I. City Hall.

13:00 hrs In The Plaza of the constitution. Then came to honor for the charges festeros and participants in the low of the city.

20:00hrs Mass in honour of the patron saint San Jaime. Officiated by our priest d. Reyes Rodriguez Rufete.

21:00hrs Procession with the statue of San Jaime, the Fiesta Queens, Captains and Ambassadors of the Moors and Christians. Route: C/ Ingeniero Mira, Plaza de Abastos, C/ San Emigdio, C/ Valencia, C/ Mayor, Avda. País Valenciano, C/ Medio día, C/ Vicente Ramos finally entering the church, followed by fireworks from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento

Day 26th July Sunday entry mora

13:00hrs Ringing of bells and launching of Rockets.

19:00 hrs Entrance of the Music Bands. Route starting on C/Mayor on the corner with C/Norte, along C/Mayor, finishing on Avda. Pais Valenciano on the corner with C/Lepanto.

20:30hrs Entrance Parade of the Moors. Route: Avda. País Valenciano on the corner with C/ Lepanto, along Avda. País Valenciano, C/ Mayor finishing on the corner with C/ Norte
