Wow... Went last night expecting classical guitar, but was wrong
It was a full on celtic band with lively ceilidh - very good.
Each evening promises to be completely different, but if last night was anything to go by, you need to get there early.
There was a long queue being well entertained by a drumming group.
When the doors opened (5 mins before start) the queue was orderly until through the doorway then mad dash all trying to grab the few chairs that were set up in the cloisters around the central quadrangle which contained the stage area plus room for perhaps 100 standing/dancing.
There were stacks more seats which hadn't been set out and folk were climbing over each other to get them.
But it was a very good and unexpected evening, worth the 30 mins journey for something different.
The venue used to be a convent & when everyone was reeling and dancing, I couldn't help trying to imagine the nuns doing the same on a Saturday night there!
