San Isidro Romeria 13th-15th May in Rojales

San Isidro Romeria 13th-15th May in Rojales

Postby Martin the artist » Tue Apr 26, 2016 6:42 pm

Over the weekend of Friday evening to Sunday evening 13th to 15th May, Rojales has a pilgrimage 'romeria' for San Isidro - the patron saints of farm workers.
This takes place in El Recorral park where families often camp out for the weekend,
On the Sunday there is a procession from the church at around 8am up to the park where they celebrate all day with events in & out doors - indoors is a large marquee!
Usually there will be lots of dance shows & music in the tent, outside they may have a horse show or other events.
And there will be a large free paella for everyone too.
The details of the programme will be out soon. (And I'll publicize when I see it,)
Meanwhile, here is the poster & a photo of the romeria passing Pueblo Lucero on a previous year.

At easterly end of Quesada.
Here's a map with Lemon Tree Road at Bottom and golf course at top.
I have marked the park, entrance and show ground area.
The town often provides some free transport too from Mercadonna.
