San Juan 'Bonfires'(Hogueras) Fiesta in Torrevieja June 2015

There are San Juan 'Bonfires' (Hogueras) in many Spanish cities in June and the the Fiesta of San Juan 'Bonfires' in Torrevieja is from the 19th to the 24th June 2015.

We don't yet have the full programme of events for each day but will add it here as soon as we get a copy. The main big event though is on the 24th June 2015 with the The Burning (La Cremà), and this is the culmination of the 'Summer Solstice' festival, which is usually at midnight.

Last year the celebrations included a children's fiesta and various other events, including a town BBQ, gift-giving and music.

By all accounts the Bonfire evening (24th June) is a spectacular event with the fire service there to keep everyone safe. Apparently it can get a bit wet with the fireman dousing the fires with their hoses but that's all part of the fun!
