Here is the programme of events for the Torrevieja Fiesta - Festival of San Emigdio - From 30th July to 3rd August 2014. (passed on to us from the Torrevieja Tourist office)

San Emigdio is the Co-patron saint of Torrevieja and also the Protector Saint Against Earthquakes.

Every year during the first week of August, a host of events are held around this festivity, with popular games, a mobile disco, open-air dances and religious events.

Activities take place in the Parque de las Naciones, with the most important event being the Solemn Procession with the image of the Saint, which is worshipped in the park's chapel, marking the end of the festivities.

Wed 30 July to Sun 3 August, Party in honor of San Emigdio, co-patron saint of Torrevieja



All activities take place in the Parque de las Naciones ( Park of Nations) Torrevieja

Wednesday 30 July Hot Chocolate and cake for all at 22.00 pm

Thursday 31 July, starting at 21 : 00 hours popular barrack great raffle gifts and sale of drinks and snacks. Then a free disco and dance will be held.

Friday 1 August, at 21:30 pm, Prize draw and free disco.

Saturday 2 August,at 19:00 pm in the Park of Nations - Special Day for Children with games, clowns, etc.. and snacks for children. At 21:30 pm, raffle gifts and entertainment with dance music.

Sunday 3 August, at 20:00 pm in the Chapel of San Emigdio, in the Park of Nations, celebration of the Eucharist in honour of San Emigdio. When finished, there will be a procession with the statue of San Emigdio, the saint. After the arrival of the image onto the Plaza del Calvario, and to mark the end of the festivities, there will be a firework display.
