British Airways to fly from London City to Alicante

British Airways to fly from London City to Alicante

Postby ianjames104 » Wed Apr 06, 2016 10:48 pm

BA to fly from London City to Alicante starting from June, great news from those of us living to the east of the City an alternative to awfull (still awfull) Ryanair and Easy Jet

I don't mind paying a bit more.

I would think BA will be using their Embrea E175 aircraft that have a bit more leg room than the low cost merchants

Plus if you like me live in zone 6 you can use your freedom pass all the way to the airport and not have to pay the parking charges.

Mind you I've worked out that I can use my freedom pass to Gatwick to the end off zone 6 South Croydon then pay the balance only £2.70 and that's not to bad

I thought that might be the answer for us living in Devon, Exeter - London City - Alicante. But it's a seasonal service only, running for 10 weeks from mid June.

Just wondering why Pizzajohn when you are in Exeter you would need to fly from London? I have flown from both Exeter & Bristol with no hassle & shall be flying into Newquay on my next return...

Flybe's Exeter -Alicante service is seasonal too! I'll explore exiting from Bristol but I also heard that Easyjet were to cover the Newquay-Alicante route

Pizzajohn as far I am aware Flybe are coming to Alicante all year through from Exeter although may just be odd days through winter nevertheless it is I gather from family to be an all year thing as of this year...Ryanair are flying into Newquay allbeit a couple days a week...this is ideal for me as closer to family so less travel time to/& from airport

My granddaughter works for Flybe, and yes they are hoping to operate all year, this depends on uptake, this is out of Exeter.

Flybe's website only displays flights up to the end of October and when I rang regarding their EXT-ALI winter flights they too only knew of flights to October.

They'll have to open their winter calendar soon if they wish to gauge demand.

PizzajohnI agree that Flybe need to pull their finger out but sit tight for a bit...I would otherwise look at Bristol...several flights & as I said I have used both without any problems & hey for a 2 & a bit hour flight I can do the "cheap" !!! :text-lol:
