That Time of Year Again

That Time of Year Again

French air traffic controllers on strike just in time for the Easter break.
Ryanair have cancelled all flights to European destinations today and tomorrow and Easyjet and BA have cancelled most, if not all, of theirs.

We are then very lucky coming out last night.....we might just be lucky AGAIN if our return flight is cancelled !!!! Seriously that's no joke for disappointed children as they break up from school. Maggie

And just to put the icing on the cake, a General Strike in Spain is planned for Thursday 24th.
Spanish government say it may disrupt some travel but they're hoping to keep a minimum service going.
Ho hum.

Well looks like the French ATC are going out for 36 hours from 5pm.

Due to fly out Ryanair 5pm tomorrow,

Previous poster said Ryanair cancelled all Euro flights last time, could they not hang a right at Cornwall and enter Spanish airspace through Irish airspace or would that route be too congested?

Anyone know what happens if we do get cancelled info out there seems a bit vague.

Thanks

My other half was due to fly back from UK on 21.03 and the flight was cancelled by Ryanair.
If you have checked in on line then Ryanair do not allow you to re-book on line You have to telephone (impossible to get through) or use web chat (again impossible). The only flight available when eventually getting through was for 31.03 some NINE days later.
Our option was to go down the refund route and book with another provider, however they seem to up their prices knowing the high demand that will take place. Also the refund value does not look like the price we paid (on going negotiations are taking place).
If there is a cancellation to your flight I think the best option is to get to the airport asap and negotiate a re-book with the customer service desk direct - if they open the desk. All representatives on desk, phone or web seem to disappear at times like this.

I hope you get here - better stuck here than in UK!!!!

Thanks Neil

Keeping an eye on their website there's been a lot of cancellations but mainly involving French destinations or where there doesn't seem to be any option than crossing French airspace eg Germany to Spain.

I'm sorry your other half has had such a horrible experience and I hope you got something sorted.

So far (fingers and other extremities crossed) our flight from Leeds hasn't been affected.

Thanks again

Wife flying today Ryanair 2 hour delay Alicante to Manchester, very little info on delay, plane only 20 mins late leaving Manchester.

delayed yet another hour as they have lost their slot, so instead of 11 am departure its now 2 pm.
