Plant advice for a pool area please

Plant advice for a pool area please

Postby Poley » Sat Apr 29, 2017 6:37 pm

Hi,

I am looking to get a large pot to go alongside our pool and also cover a gap between us and the neighbours.

I would like it to be attractive, evergreen plant that is quite bushy and that doesn't drop many leaves (or flowers).

Ideally I would like a Pieris 'Forest Flame' like we have in the UK but I haven't seen them in garden centres over in Spain.

Any suggestions?

Kindest regards

Poley

This plant need acid soil ...and shade ..and may suffer with the hot air in the summer heat ..so think it may not be a good idea.even evergreens will drop some leaves ....but pop to garden centre they will show you a good choice that can take the heat ...pittosporum ... rosemary...hibiscus...plus many more are easy to grow....

STRELITZIA is the answer. Beautiful BIRD OF PARADISE flowers. Grows happily in a pot, looks great and produces virtually no litter. Ideal

Hibiscus is a fair choice, but the spent flower heads do drop and create a certain amount of debris.

Good luck,
