Buying in Quesada

Buying in Quesada

Postby junehume » Sat Jan 07, 2017 10:10 pm

Hi all, I'm thinking of buying a property in Quesada and would be grateful of any tips or info on the area i.e best place to live, other ex pats advice on living in the area etc. I've never been to the area although looking for such a long time it seems like Quesada has what I'm looking for however reading some information on trip advisor from people who have stayed there have given some bad reviews.
The property I am looking at is within the fortified area of the historic center but I can't find any info on that particular area of Quesada.
I am going to be visiting in a week or two but would be very grateful for any tips anyone can offer before I travel.
Regards June

The fortified historic centre? Are you sure you have the right Quesada? This is Ciudad Quesada which is part of Rojales in the Alicante province. It was built in the 1970s by one Justo Quesada so we don't have a fortified historic centre or even a historic centre.
There is another Quesada in the Jaen province of Andalusia. This has a ruined castle and fortifications near the centre so maybe you are getting the wrong results.

Just to amplify, we have a main street with dozens of restaurants and bars, dress shops, Chinese (sell everything) shops, pharmacy, furniture shops, bakers and so on. We have our own water park (summer), bowling alley, casino, mini-golf, municipal centre and loads of estate agents. All surrounded by urbanisations with most having their own commercial centres with more shops and restaurants and bars. We have a golf course. We have large supermarkets and small shops, we have a couple of Sunday markets just up the road. We have a country club and numerous karaoke bars. The beaches are about a 15 minute drive away and we have garden centres, DIY shops, loads of urbanisation and private swimming pools and a very nice Spa hotel. We have a salt lake very close to us and not far to bigger salt lakes with flamingos and other exotic birdlife.
What we don't have is history apart from an old ruined chapel.

Hi, thank you very much for replying to my query, it certainly lyrics sounds as though I have got myself a little mixed, mind you I have looked at some many properties in so many areas it's no wonder! However the area you describe sounds lovely with plenty going on and worth a visit.
Thanks again June

Our Ciudad Quesada is also an all year round town. Some of the areas die off in Winter with restaurants closing and hardly anyone around. Here it is well populated throughout the year which is a plus.

What an informative description Marcliff has given of the area we live in, having lived here for almost 20 years it is unrecognisable, though each new area has its own commercial area, including an excellent medical centre, also the sunshine helps and close to nearby beaches.

The other Quesada is a quaint white village in Jaen province of Andalucia.
Heres a few snaps I shot when I passed through a couple of years ago...
