Should I open a B&B or purchase a property to rent out?

It's interesting to read the different viewpoints. I think for me, a property that I can rent for part of the year will be best but good luck to anyone who decides to give a B&B a go in the area.

Tootandploot I could be interested in your yield calculations and maybe even many more people on this forum. What do you propose, share it with us? Newchocs summed it up, he/she is very clever and seems very knowledgeable. B&B all day long, Benijofar is a town on the rise, the town hall is investing where as Quesada it seems is festering! It's a shame as it could be so good.

DTR I am not sure I understand your post? Where are the comments from Newchocs you refer to??? No magic formula, you look at the likely purchase price and estimate the rental and that should enable to you calculate the Yp in a percentage.

Delutina you go for it. You'll be the number one b&b in the whole area. Every Google search for b&b Quesada will come to you. Property searchers don't want cold hotels but would rather like to stay in a villa or property similar to the one they intend to buy. I know of people that would be happy to use a b&b in the area.

My wife and I opened a B&B in El Galan and it has been very successful, there are very few in the Torrevieja area, you should go for it if you can find the right house.
