Prescriptions and Medications (Blood pressure & Statins)

Update on statins, had results of a blood test which found my cholesterol levels to be in the normal range after two months of statin abstinance and my nice gp Rojales said it was ok to not start taking them again as i was doing fine without them
I think its worth taking a sabbatical from statins for a couple of months and then see how your cholesterol levels are going as i am concerned about statin side effects

Been back to the docs for a monthly injection and was asked how I was getting on with Statins. Told doc that I am not taking them. She then asked me for my postcode. I asked what that has to do with me taking statins to which she replied that they assess you on your postcode. The criteria they apply is that if you live in an area with a "reasonable" postcode then it is assumed you have a healthy diet. You are apparently scored according to your postcode. Absolute garbage, I have never heard anything so ridiculous. That's done it for me. I didn't have much faith in doctors before and now I don't have any!

My doc said it was safe to drop statins based on me dropping them for two months and then seeing the effect on my cholesterol level.
The level, without statins, was within safe limits so he said it was acceptable to not go back on to them.
Good enough for me

It amazes me that people will hunt through conspiracy theories on the web then discount a doctors advice, a doctor that has had years of study in the latest methods and medications, and, on the advice of some nut on the internet stop life threatening medication..

If you are concerned with your medication talk to your DOCTOR... they might have very good reasons for your treatment..
