Be amazed if he cannot however if he walks in you pay the price if you register at Docs and get a sip card you only pay 10 % of price up to 8€ thats if your pensionable age think thats correct

I think he'd need a residencia card in order to get a SIP (health) card both of which can take time to organise. However I think he may be covered by a EHIC ( European Health Insurance Card) in the short term though strictly speaking that is for emergency use. Best bet would be to get your
Spanish lawyer to start application process before coming to save time. You'd both also need to arrange your health benefits to be transferred to Spain which is a simple process of contacting the Overseas Healthcare Team in Newcastle for form S1 this can be done over the phone. They'll be happy to send the paperwork to an address in Spain for you ( I sent it to my Spanish lawyer) don't worry it's not as daunting as it sounds but can take time as I say

You can get a temp SIP if you are on the padron.
(Valied 6 months, but renewable.)
Just see the lady on the health stall in entrance to Rojales town hall.
You will be assigned a doctor who will issue prescriptions.
