Torrevieja Hospital

Torrevieja Hospital

Postby sunworshipper » Wed Dec 13, 2017 11:25 am

My son has an appointment booked tomorrow with a consultant at Torrevieja Hospital. Should he take an interpreter as his doctor never mentioned it .?

All information would be greatly appreciated as we have never been to the hospital before.
Thanks

Every Consultant I have seen has spoken has spoken English.

I usually write a list of questions in Spanish if I need to find something out.

When you go in you will see machines that look like ATM's scan the appointment or if you do not have the paper bit type in your SIP number. It will spit out a ticket with a code. Go upstairs and you will see screens , just watch for your code appearing with the consulting room number. . That is unless it is to do with eyes then they tannoy your name and room number Never had to have an interpretor. Good luck and don't worry they are very good.

Carolgraeme, are you sure that the appointment for your eyes is at Torrevieja Hospital? Some are at another location.
If it is the hospital, like the previous poster said, check in at the machines on the ground floor, go up to the first floor, and sit in front of rooms 57/58/59 and wait for your name to be called for (most likely) room 54/55/56 initially. My wife goes there about ten times a year, and they speak good English. They are very kind and helpful there.
Pm me if you need any more information, or if your appointment paper shows a different location.
Geoff.

just an addition... as has been said, go to the machines on the ground floor, put in your SIP number... it will give you a piece of paper with a word on it... like LANZA 003 It will also tell you the room number... i.e. CONS54... find a chair where you can see the TV screens and wait...

Been to the hospital quite a few times to see various doctors, every one spoke brilliant English..

Don´t worry. you are in good hands there..
