Mapfre home insurance

Mapfre home insurance

Postby Babu » Mon Mar 26, 2018 7:27 pm

My villa insurance is coming up for renewal so I went to Mapfre office in Quesada to see if I could reduce the premium as it has gone up each year since I bought 2 years ago (my purchasing solicitor set it up with Mapfre for me).
They told me Mapfre now have a new policy (in the last year) specifically for holiday homes that has the same provisions and cover as the original but it must be a holiday /second home and any work or replacements under the policy must be via them and not your own workmen.
The premium for a 2 bed semidetatched villa is €107 pa . . . More than half what I am paying now! I have read the proposal they gave me and can't find any downsides . .

Has anyone got this?

There are none until to have to make a claim. We had dreadful experience with them.

We are insured with Mapfre and were very impressed with the way they dealt with our recent break in. No complaints here.

Thanks for replies . . I guess people can have different experiences with same company.
Was just wondering if people had had experience with their new cut down version . . . Maybe it's too new to get a view

Thanks
Babu

I'm with Mapfre.
I had a cycle accident late last year and had no insurance
I had asked at the clock office if there was any thing they could do to help with it Andreas told no .
Five months later I got a bill from the owner of the car I had hit and went into Mapfre again.
During the conversation I mentioned hitting the car with my bike .all changed she had missed that point.it was 3rd party and Moore's paidcall of the costs for the damaged car.

Hi all
We have damage to our roof from the recent wind and rain. We have home insured with Mapfree in Quesada. They have now advised us as our house is part of a community they will not pay for the roof repairs they say we should contact our president (who is not resident) it is imperative that we get the roof fixed as soon as possible. Has anyone else experienced this problem or anyone any advice please

My parents were with Mapfre and they were crap when they wanted to claim for a leaky roof. They have an independant villa, no urbanisation and wouldn't help them.
