Sabadell Home Insurance CESAR

Sabadell Home Insurance CESAR

Postby Julie V » Tue Sep 12, 2017 1:03 pm

Hello
we purchased our villa in March this year. As we banked with Sabadell they offered us home and contents insurance. As we are not in Spain all the time we specially asked for an insurance cover that fully covered for rain/ water and storm damage.
We were told this was the case. The company is CESAR. Nothing was explained.

A couple of weeks ago there were Bad rain storms. Unfortunately,we have had on two separate occasions, rain water through our lounge ceiling and onto the furniture below. The furniture was sitting in about an inch of water.

When I phoned the insurance company to make a claim, I was given a claim number, and the advisor told me, they had had many claims from around the Benijofar and Quesada etc areas.

When I rang to find out when the assessor was due, I was told my claim would not be looked at, as there was insufficient rain fall at the time of the damage to warrant a claim at all, not for buildings or contents.
Has anybody else had this same or similar problem.
We are devastated, what is the point of having house insurance ? We will not be renewing.
Anybody else experiencing the same problem?
Any advice would be most welcome.
Very unhappy :(:(

I would say you need to get your roof looked at as it is leaking and will be nothing to do with the storms Insurance will only cover damage caused by certain types of weather not all

Do not forget you must give 1 months notice if you are not renewing your insurance and in form Sabadell to stop payments otherwise they will just renew it Your insurance will be through the banks own insurance brokerage underwritten by Caser .It will be a lot cheaper if you had gone direct to Caser Sabadell load a big lump of commission on top .

It is still cheaper to take Sabadell's insurance for the first year as they then waive their charges for the house purchase. We are 9 months into our policy with Sabadell having bought last December and I have set a reminder on my phone to cancel 2 months beforehand.

Why should Sabadell be charging you for buying a house

The banks charge high fees for receiving large sums of money through international transfers, plus also for all the guaranteed cheques for vendors, notary, solicitor, purchase tax etc. they write.

They usually waive these though if you take out their home insurance for the first year.

We did the same and got our house insurance with Sabadell last November and got the discount on the taxes. Grateful for the advice on cancelling and will do so.

Hello,

In fact, there were many homes affected by the rains, not only in the Quesada area, somehow it seems a bit strange that at least the Company or Bank did not send the assesor to inspect the facts and damage and determine the circumstances of what has happened, as it use to happen.

Checking the roof is of course necessary because we want to keep our propertiy in good condition, however and in case of disagreement with the insurance company, they use to offer Customer Service departments (in spanish ' Servicio de Defensa al Asegurado), as it may be worth making a claim through them to find out.

Their contact details are:

Caser Company:

* by email: [email protected]

* through this link https://www.caser.es/defensa-asegurado/ ... formulario (only
available in Spanish)

* by phone CUSTOMER CARE: 901 332 233

Bank: ][email protected] (Servicio Atención al Cliente)

Hopefully you can get to sort it out.

Saludos,
