Haha, I don't think Mick Hucknall even knows this area exists lol.. The castle is owned by a German lady, a Mrs Michaela Van Hucknall apparently. No idea where that rumour came from though..
I think making up rumours is a pass-time for some people around here and the worst at it were always real estate agents.

We went looking for the airstrip on the back road where the old plane is .
It was up a track and it was a landing strip ,but they use it for model aircraft club, not very sociable when we went there .
Also duck pond , we go and feed the ducks, they will eat out of your hand.

When I first came to Quesada, I'd heard rumours that the hangers still had a few planes in them as there was disagreement between existing home owners and Quesada due to buying property specifically so they could be near their planes. Also Gorbachev was supposed to have a place here.

I'll have a look and see if I can find any more images of the old Quesada aerodrome, I think I have some somewhere.. As for the aerodrome on the old back road for model planes, yes.. I've heard the rumour that they're not the most social people. which would probably explain why you never see any adverts for their model club. But maybe someone else knows better? I'm sure it's something that would interest a lot of people.
There are still some very active and very friendly aero clubs in the area, most notably in the campo, just this side of Catral. It is a very nice place to visit any Sunday when the weather is good. I took some visitors there a while back and one of the local pilots took them up, flying over our house at the time, which was a great thrill for them and the photos were great! They have an old aircraft hanger with lots of old aircraft and old motorcycles in it. From James Bond style Giro-copters to home made planes and there's even an old bi-plane from world war one hanging from the ceiling which is to be a renovation project some day for the owner. Very interesting place and well worth a visit if you're looking for a little drive out on a sunny Sunday.

[[El]] castle of Montemar it is located to the South of the municipal term of Algorfa (Province of Alicante, Spain)
One is a constructed satately house at the end of century XVIII. Since then, and during almost 150 years, it belonged to the family of the counts of Red House. The first Count of Red House, and possibly the first owner of this Castle, was Jose de Rojas and Recaño of the Tower. This horseman was first who had the dignity of commander in chief of the department of Cartagena. It was born in Cadiz in 1702 and after one long and valiant race in the Navy, it was named by the King, count of Red House and vizconde of Recaño. It passed away in Cartagena to the 93 years of age. Throughout century XIX, the castle of Montemar continued belonging its successors. When finalizing the civil war, the family of Red had to sell the property and the Castle that contained. After happening through several proprietors, the Castle was acquired in 1970 by its present owners, and was object of an important restoration that saved it to disappear, and it inner adapted it like deprived house, use that continues having at the present time.
This castle never had military uses, was used generally as it calls to account summery of the successive owners. Its style is something Frenchified. It has two square towers and two circular ones with the corners of sillares. The main tower which we can call “of the tribute”, has garitones in his esquines, and battlements with its coronations inclined towards the outside. It has a square patio surrounded by a gallery located in the first plant. The ceilings of the towers are flat and accessible, although during the last century they had covers to four waters done with slate. The Vista that is had from these terraces justifies without a doubt some the name of this
